The Academic Advising and Planning Center in collaboration with the Office for the Academic Experience and the Career Center, hosts the annual Majors & Minors Fair event each fall where undergraduate students across the university are invited to come explore the various options College of Charleston offers.

The purpose of the Majors & Minors Fair is to provide all undecided, re-deciding and exploring students the opportunity to speak personally with faculty, staff and student representatives from academic programs and campus resources in one location to learn about specific requirements for majors, minors, and career options.

For the 2020 Majors and Minors Fair, we will be moving to a virtual format. This will allow students to receive all of the valuable resources the departments have to offer while still maintaining social distancing guidelines. Every day there will be a different school featured and there will be opportunities for students to still interact and engage with faculty, staff, and students from each department in a virtual format.

This year’s Virtual Majors and Minors week will look like the following:

  • At the beginning of each day, specific Majors/Minors/and Programs’ pre-recorded videos will be sent out to all students.
  • From 12:00-12:30pm daily the AAPC will be holding a “How to Explore Majors and Minors” meeting.
  • From 12:30-1:00pm daily the AAPC will be holding a “Choosing your Major Q&A” meeting.
  • Sometime between 3-5:00pm each day, Majors/Minors/and Programs will hold smaller live meetings for students to join and ask questions. Specific times and links to these live meetings will be sent earlier in the day via an email sent to all students.
